The Bad Feeling

A withdrawn twelve-year-old must team up with a group of townies to defeat the ghost who’s threatening him and his family in THE BAD FEELING, a middle-grade horror story. The kid who sees dead people from The Sixth Sense meets The Goonies in this standalone novel with series potential, ideal for fans of Ghost Squad and The Clackity.

Seventh-grader Finn has more fears than friends. His list of terrors includes water deeper than his bathtub, boogeymen in his closet, and for the past couple years, talking to girls. When his parents move him from their Chicago condo to a creepy, old farmhouse in Wisconsin, his list grows much longer.

Someone else lives in the house—the ghost of a girl who died there in the 1800s. But for some reason, Finn’s the only one who can see her. In fact, his presence seems to have awakened her. The ghost shatters light bulbs and materializes in his bathroom, making it clear she wants his family out, even if that means in body bags.

His parents dismiss his latest worries as a ploy to get back to Chicago, so Finn turns to a group of local boys and (gulp) girls who know the unlucky history of his house. As they work to solve the mystery surrounding the evil spirit and Finn's newfound psychic abilities, Finn realizes he might actually have a chance to make friends…if he lives long enough.
